The Manager of Production Operations for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the filling and packaging operations of consumables essential to Beckman Coulter Diagnostics.

This position is part of the manufacturing operations team located in Florence, KY and will be an onsite role.  At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.  We are in the midst of transitioning our Florence site to a new facility in Hebron, Kentucky and you will have an opportunity to be a key part of this exciting move.

You will be a part of the manufacturing operations and plant management team and report to the Director of Operations. If you thrive in a leadership, fast-paced role and want to work to build a world-class manufacturing organization—read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide direction to the reagent filling value-stream to manage Safety, Inventory, and staffing, while meeting product Quality, Delivery, and Productivity expectations.
  • Hire, develop, and retain talent in support of creating a diverse, inclusive, and engaging work environment.
  • Drive Continuous Process Improvement utilizing lean manufacturing and Danaher Business System tools.
  • Generate budgets and control expenses related to labor, production volume, controllable expenses, and manufacturing variances.
  • Lead/Interact with site’s functions such as Maintenance, Procurement, Quality, and EHS.
  • Coach the team through Product and Process related technical Investigations.
  • Balance strategic initiatives with tactical action planning to accomplish site objectives.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to run site daily management and set departmental priorities.
  • Continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with direct reports, support teams, and leadership team.  Provide constructive performance coaching to direct reports.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a Technical or Engineering discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical or Packaging Engineering, etc.)
  • 5 years manufacturing supervisor/management experience.
  • Chemical, reagent, or consumable goods manufacturing experience.
  • Lean six sigma operations.
