Description de l'emploi

Your mission:

Ready to dive into a world where your passion for cutting-edge technology meets the pressing need for safeguarding our maritime world? The Institute for the Protection of Maritime Infrastructures is on a mission, and we're seeking brilliant minds like yours to join our force!

You can be part of a team that's all about crafting technology to safeguard the maritime domain. We're the thinkers behind new concepts that keep everything from ports to offshore wind-farms safe and secure. As a member of our Maritime Security Technologies team, get ready to explore innovative solutions that matter for everyone.

Do you want to work with cutting-edge underwater sensors and acoustic systems? That's exactly what you'll do! You'll be designing algorithms that process Acoustic Signals, simulate underwater sound channels for systems like active sonars, pioneering the future of maritime security with exciting experimental setups. It's as fascinating as it sounds!

But that's not all – your work will be a puzzle piece in a larger picture. You'll be part of an important project integrating these next-gen systems into our maritime situation picture – a big leap forward in maritime security.

Perhaps you are also thinking about pursuing a PhD? At DLR, we will also support your academic journey!

Your mission:

  • crafting innovative methods and algorithms for processing Acoustic Signals.
  • extending and exploring an existing acoustic simulation environment, conducting simulated investigations that help to push the boundaries of algorithm development.
  • testing the acoustic systems you've worked with in experimental trials, comparing and validating their performance against simulated results.
  • integrating your creations into our maritime situation picture – your work will be a puzzle piece in enhancing maritime safety.

Your qualifications:

  • university degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related fields.
  • skills in programming, digital Signal Processing, and handling high-tech instruments.
  • knowledge of underwater acoustics or radar – or expertise in similar fields
  • fluency in English
  • team-oriented player, brimming with motivation, ready to thrive in a collaborative and ever-evolving environment

Your benefits:

Look forward to a fulfilling job with an employer who appreciates your commitment and supports your personal and professional development. Our unique infrastructure offers you a working environment in which you have unparalleled scope to develop your creative ideas and accomplish your professional objectives.
