As Application Engineer for Reciprocating Compressors systems, you will develop solutions for the upgrade, the rejuvenation or the replacement of existing units and the relevant auxiliary systems. You will manage and be the owner of the project control activity globally and drive consistent functional specifications and common global processes for projects implementation.
As Application Engineer for Reciprocating Compressors Upgrades you will be responsible for :
- Providing technical expertise and develops technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economics, etc.) as part of the pre-ITO (requisition) process while interfacing with the commercial team. Possesses a deep understanding of relevant markets and customer economic value that aid winning bid strategies. To include 'ITO': Technical analysis of client need: definition and optimization of the products; scope (description); schedule; industrial scheme; cost, considering contract and internal policies and procedures. Calculation of plant, system and equipment performance and efficiency. Documentation of technical specifications & costing elements for further contract execution phases. This also includes OTR part where engineers work on customizing the products and implementing it for specific customer needs
- Leading analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.
- Communicating across direct organization. Presents to senior leaders (EB and SEB) in specific technical space and on cross functional teams on how technologies interconnect and contribute to overall strategy.
- Connecting the dots across technologies and develop cross-technology solutions; works on cross-functional projects/teams to deliver technology solutions for the business. Communicates across the function in area of expertise
- Promoting the TPS UPG Business transformation to become Service provider for low carbon footprint solutions
- Developing solutions for the conversion to electrical drive of existing turbo-compression units and for the upgrade of existing electrical machinery
- Leading the development and the strategy of our offering for the upgrade or the replacement of existing Reciprocating Compressor systems in agreeent with the project team/functions
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have Bachelor's degree in Mechanics or equivalent from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Engineering/Technology). Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Customer Application Engineering.
- Have a strong domain knowledge of Reciprocating Compressors equipment for O&G industry including:
- Understanding current configuration performances and areas for improvement by executing technical calculation (RCS3 suite for Reciprocating Compressors and relevant modules)
- Understanding P&ID's and mechanical manufacturing drawings
- Understanding of basics of physics (thermodynamics and dynamics) of Reciprocating Compressors
- Be fluent in English
