Data & Strategic Analyst (CDD)

The BU APAC & Europe is deploying strategical initiatives across its geographies to support the Growth plan 2023-2026. Mid-Market is one of the key initiatives for the BU APAC & Europe.

As Data & Strategic analyst, you will be a key member of the team, and you will play a crucial role on taking ownership of data management and ensuring its robustness. Your responsibility will involve by giving  confidence in the accuracy and reliability of the data for the benefit of our management in the Mid Market segment.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

1.      Data Ownership:

Assume data ownership for the mid-market growth initiative, including the development and production of data-driven insights to support our strategic objectives.

2.      Support Portfolio Management:

Enable and support various functions such as Underwriting, Finance, Claims, Distribution, Innovation and Data Management by providing active portfolio management capabilities and data dashboards.

Continuously monitor the performance of these functions in the evolving mid-market environment.

3.      Ad-Hoc Data Requests:

Fulfill ad-hoc data requests for different projects, studies, and tasks related to our mid-market growth initiative, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.

4.      Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data-driven recommendations and insights are effectively implemented to drive growth.

5.      Data Quality Management:

Manage data quality for various applications, implementing data governance best practices to maintain data accuracy and reliability in support of our mid-market strategy.

6.      Database Development:

Develop and manage databases that are instrumental in providing data support for the mid-market growth initiative, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for relevant stakeholders.

7.      Presentations and Analysis:

Occasionally develop PowerPoint presentations and underlying data analysis for the mid-market initiative for both internal and external purposes, contributing to our growth strategy.

8.      External Partnerships:

Lead data-driven studies and collaborations with external partners in the mid-market business segment, gaining valuable insights and leveraging external expertise to drive our growth strategy.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

·       Removing corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems

·       Using automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources

·       Performing analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data

·       Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets

·       Working with different functions (Underwriting, Pricing, Middle Office, Distribution, Finance , Claims, IT , external partners…etc) to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications

·       Preparing ad-hoc reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data

·       Removing corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems

Soft Skills

·        You are not scared of data systems, messy dashboards and huge excel files – you are a quick learner.

·        You are highly numerate, inquisitive and analytical with excellent data gathering and manipulation skills.

·        You are able to to make clear recommendations to key stakeholders

·       Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in English is a must.

·        Team player

Desired Skills and Abilities:

·       Knowledge of insurance is a plus
