--> Job Purpose:

The incumbent will have the responsibility to lead all facets of Safety programs worldwide, including, policies & procedures, communication, training, auditing / inspections, and incident investigation & reporting.

In addition, the successful candidate will lead the support to the organization when it comes to security topics, crisis management and travel to high-risk countries.

This position will report directly to the HSSE & CSR Vice-President.

 

--> Main Accountabilities:

The successful candidate will be accountable for the sustainability at group level of the programs leading to the constant reduction of serious injuries as well as the support to the OG´s on their strategies to incident reduction. To this end, the individual is expected to have a level of gravitas that can impact other leaders. Also needs to have strategic thinking and ability to execute initiatives in a multicultural environment and in a company with a large diversity of business lines. To that effect, strong impact and leadership on the following programs is crucial:

  • Training: development of engaging and innovative Safety training contents. Participate on the execution and delivery of in-person training packages;
  • Auditing and inspections: Improvement of the internal audit process, by enhancing the tool, the reporting system (Nexus); the training of the internal auditors and the participation on the internal audit program as an auditor;
  • Communications: help develop the internal HSSE communication campaigns, create internal alerts/communications and support the creation of the on the monthly HSE dashboard;
  • Policies and procedures: develop and communicate critical policies outlining the group´s expectations and controls for critical risks related with employee and subcontractor safety and wellbeing;
  • Follow up and manage indicators on the existing reporting platform – Nexus, ensuring adequate reporting from the operating groups.

 

 

--> Principal interfaces:

-External: TIC Council, key customers

-Internal: QHSSE network

 

--> Dimensions:

-External – Sporadic interaction with some specific TIC council committees and participation in key account meetings.

-Internal – QHSSE Network on the various dimensions highlighted above.

 

--> Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • 10 + years of HSE Leadership positions;
  • Ability to influence the organization;
  • English and French : Fluent 
  • Knowledge and experience in managing HSSE management systems;
  • Experience in serious and fatal incident investigations as well as the tools to assess and determine root causes;
  • Strategic thinking and ability to communicate the direction and vision;
  • Ability to train and educate various levels of the organization;
  • Operational positioning is a must versus compliance approach.
