The Institute for Commercial and Insolvency Law focuses on research and teaching in Insolvency Law, legal aspects of corporate finance and economic analysis of law.

Project

The candidate will have the opportunity to do research in the fields of commercial law, with a focus on Insolvency Law (forced execution, secured transactions, bankruptcy, reorganisation, …), the legal aspects of corporate finance, and/or economic analysis of law. The researcher has to write a PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Joeri Vananroye. In addition she or he will assist with the education duties of prof. dr. Joeri Vananroye. This amounts to roughly 20% of the total workload.

Profile

  • Master in Law, Master of Economics, Law and Business Studies or a similar legal degree with good to excellent study results. 
  • An interest in insolvency and/or the economic analysis of law. 
  • Capacity to become part of the existing research group and to conduct doctoral research. 
  • Good knowledge of Dutch and English. 

Offer

We offer full-time employment for 2 years, renewable in case of positive assessment, according to the following scheme:  

  • after the second year, renewal for 2 years
  • after the fourth year, renewal for 2 years 
For a maximum period of 6 years in total.
Salary according to scale 43.
