The Institute for Contract Law under the direction of Prof. Dr. Bernard Tillemand and Prof. Dr. Alain-Laurent Verbeke is a part of the Private Law Research Unit and provides education and research, both in the field of Special Contracts such as purchase, lease, assumption, mandate, etc. and in the field of negotiation and mediation.

The Institute works closely with the Centre for Legal Methodology and with KULAK and thus supervises research in the broad field of private property law. In collaboration with LINC (Criminology) and the Leuven Centre for Collaborative Management (LCM) at the Faculty of Psychology, the Institute also provides education and research in the areas of negotiation and mediation.

Project

  • You are expected to conduct PhD research in the field of Contract Law with an interest in Art Law, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bernard Tilleman and Prof. Dr. Bert Demarsin.
  • You are expected to conduct scientific research, both concerning your own research and concerning projects of the Institute.
  • You are expected to provide teaching support (practical exercises, seminars, supervising papers and master's theses).

Profile

  • You are holder of a master in Law, with excellent results.
  • Experience in the academic field or otherwise is recommended.
  • Since the teaching activities are in Dutch, knowledge of Dutch is required.

Offer

A full-time contract for 2 years as of 1 October 2024, which can be renewed twice for 2 years, with a maximum of 6 years in total.
This function is linked to salary scale 43.
