The Institute for the Law of Obligations, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Sophie Stijns and Prof. Dr. Ilse Samoy, is a part of the Research Unit Private Law and is responsible for the education in all course units of the Law of Obligations in Leuven and Hasselt, both in the form of
lectures as well as in the form of exercises, teaching groups, seminars, bachelor's theses and master's theses.

In addition to education, the Institute devotes a great deal of attention to research.

KU Leuven campus Brussels is located in the city center, within walking distance of the central station and the historical center in the middle of the bustling decision-making center of Belgian and European politics and business. You wil join a small and dynamic team.

Project

  • Research within the field of the Law of Obligations with a view of writing a doctoral dissertation, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Annick De Boeck.
  • Writing national and international publications related to your research.
  • Support of education activities for the courses Law of Obligations, Law of goods and special contracts law and master theses in the field of Law of Obligations.

Profile

  • You are holder of a master in Law, with excellent results.
  • Since the teaching activities are in Dutch, knowledge of Dutch is required.

Offer

We offer you a full-time contract as an assistant in our Brussels campus for 2 years as of 1 September 2024 which can be renewed twice for 2 years, with a maximum of 6 years in total.

We offer the opportunity of obtaining a PhD under excellent supervision.
Salary according to scale 43.
