The Materials Science & Technology team provides cutting-edge materials and processes solutions to support turbomachinery product competitiveness to deliver the highest reliable, efficiency and clean performances.

We are accountable to develop, test, select, qualify, and apply materials technologies in components service environments and to deliver fit-for-purpose applications in the path of energy decarbonization.

Highly motivated lead material engineer with a background and experience in materials science and technology, able to support, as laboratory technologist, Materials testing activities for turbomachinery applications.

As a Lead Materials EngineerMaterials Testing, you will be responsible for :

  • planning and executing laboratories testing and investigations by means of specific equipment in the field of advanced microscopy, physical and mechanical properties characterization.
  • In this role he/she will collaborate in several R&D projects, Manufacturing and Service support (i.e. Failure analysis and Residual Life Assessment), with the scope of collecting and elaborating materials information for engineering analysis.
  • Clear thinking, knowledge of Quality and HSE processes, and ability to deliver tasks are required skill. 

 

The lab technologist is and advanced laboratory professional, direct report of Materials Science & Technology department manager, and he is responsible for:

  • Review of the job request completeness and the applicable documents.
  • Ownership and Execution of job activity and documents issue according to applicable procedures and Quality Manuals
  • Collection, digitalization and analysis of Materials properties
  • Execution of complex examinations/investigations
  • Review of lab Technicians activities/examinations or investigation
  • Preparation and use of procedures relating to test methods/examinations and/or specific department processes.
  •   Assuring HSE procedures compliance.

 

 Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have MSc degree in a related field such as Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineer.
  • 3yr-5yr of Experience in Materials Engineering and testing
  •   technical expertise in materials, special process, testing methodologies, advanced microscopy, fractography and materials behavior.
  •   ability to operate laboratory equipment such as optical microscopes, SEM, EDS, tensile machines, hardness testers
  • Have knowledge of International Quality standards (i.e ISO, NADCAP)
  •    Have excellent communication and written skills in English
  •      Demonstrate effective skills with the ability to influence and build relationships with the team and the internal and external customers
  •     Be able to travel internationally for shorth trips related to inspections or other related activities
  •     Be a self-starter, proactively taking the initiative to solve problems and provide solutions
  •   Exhibit the highest standards of ethical conduct and responsibility for fully understanding and complying with company policies.
