Radiometer Stargard is a site with several functions and departments including, but not limited to, manufacturing, distribution, purchase, engineering, quality, R&D and shared services for HR and Finance.

We are looking for a strong and experienced leader for the site. As the Managing Director you are directly responsible for the manufacturing and engineering, and for the work environment of the whole site, including coaching and leading all site functions towards one winning team through a culture of DBS (Danaher Business System).

You will lead and develop the organization by utilizing the DBS toolbox in all aspects of the business and by that apply performance-driven organizational development.

The site is working according to quality management system that certified the sites production and distribution for ISO 13485 and FDA regulations for In Vitro Diagnostic devices.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and proactive manager to lead a fast-growing site of more than 900 associates.

The position is part of the Global Operation’s senior leadership team.

The largest part of the site is manufacturing. We have Inhouse production with a great focus on safety, quality, people, delivery, and productivity. The site manufacturing is divided into three different areas each with own responsible director.

1) Samples, highly automated high-volume production of blood collecting medical devices in clean rooms, done both inhouse and with outsourced production. Part of products are outsourced where the MD will be part of point of contact team and the driver of the business relation with the contract manufacturer.  

2) Sensors, manual long lead time process of hand made complex sensors to measure throw skin without any blood collection.

3) Solutions, semi-automated medium high-volume production of different chemistry consumables to Radiometer system. Incusing lab mixture of liquids to pouch manufacturing and bottle filling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and sustain quality performance on products and distribution.

  • Develop and sustain on time delivery (OTD).

  • Develop the supervised organization through mentoring, coaching, training, various motivational and talent assessment tools, secure devise talent and successor pipeline for direct and indirect reports.

  • Develop and drive DBS culture at site

  • Drive efficiency in production.

  • Inventory, supervise the material and components supply in co-operation with Manufacturing and Purchase and Logistics dept.

  • Secure and maintain QMS by ensure resources needed for successful achievement of quality management system processes (CAPA, NCR, etc) in the supervised area. Supervise readiness for audits in the production teams.

  • Secure and maintain compliance with relevant labor laws and ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.

  • Secure optimization of production processes and ensure the cost effectiveness of the production. Continuously improve of manufacturing processes and product quality.

  • Secure and maintain Opex and Capex according to budget and forecasts

  • Secure good cooperation with contract manufacturer to achieve Quality, OTD and cost down targets.

Key Relationships:

a)  Internal

  • Local leadership team both direct and indirect reports

  • Global Operations Senior Leadership team that is reporting to Global VP of Operations

  • All supporting global functions on the site

  • Finance and HR as well as other support functions local and global.

  • Radiometer sales subs in case of quality investigations and customer complaints.

b)  External

  • International equipment and material suppliers

  • Interface with commercial sites

  • Official offices of Stargard town and Western Pomerania in Poland

Key Requirements:

  • MSc. or BSc in management, engineering, production processes, quality/regulatory or similar

  • Minimum 7 years in production management or equal position, preferably in the medical device industry

  • A good knowledge on applicable methods and principles within GMP, ISO standards, lean management, ability to manage budget, projects and large and diverse teams

  • Strong leadership skills, openness to change and able to take a balanced risk, strong communication skills, assertiveness, ability to build good and trustful relationships, resistance to stress

  • Capability to apply standards & regulations into practice

  • External cooperation and negotiation skills with countries in Europe and in China.

  • English at the upper intermediate level to be able to communicate with the global stakeholders

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Travel (5-10 % of time) - travel to:

    • Radiometer headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, other Radiometer operational sites across the globe

    • Business meeting at contract manufacturer or supplier in Europe or China.

Relocation

We will offer re-location depending on the specific situation.

Hybrid work-model

We expect that you will frequently be present at the site.

Within the hybrid mode of work, the presence at Stargard site of Radiometer will be scheduled partially flexibly according to FoW post-pandemic policy, balanced with work from home to certain extend securing the right level of insight into the processes at GEMBA, driving productivity, quality and delivery together with people performance and engagement.
