General Summary
This internship position is responsible for participating in group packaging development projects and the improvement of existing packaging in our plant food & lawn product category (fertilizer, compost).
The main projects thematic will be around sustainability:
- Plastic reduction
- Recyclability improvement
- Packaging harmonization & simplification
The Packaging internship must successfully interact with multifunctional & multi-cultural teams: group R&D, Marketing, Procurement, Regulatory and Supply Chain in a marketing driven consumer goods company.
All these activities must be managed in a pro-active manner to assure that environmental, product, and safety is not compromised.
This internship position :
- reports to group packaging lead,
- is based in Limonest (Lyon West North, FR),
- is for a duration of 6 months –from March / April to end of August / September 2024.
Main tasks
- Define packaging brief with marketing
- Identify appropriate technical solutions that answer marketing brief
- Exchange with suppliers
- Select best technical solutions & test them
- Manage manufacturing trials with plants
- Manage packaging & finished good specifications and BOMs
- Approve new packaging on time, on cost, on specification
- Participate & report work progress to project teams
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Bachelor degree + ongoing studies in Packaging or Mechanical industry
Experience:
Any previous internship in a consumer good company in a packaging role is welcome
Knowledge:
Technical knowledge obtained from the ongoing study of post bachelor / engineering school in Packaging or Mechanical.
Ability to apply fundamental technician principles for the evaluation and optimization of Evergreen packaging
Through knowledge of specifically flexible plastic, papers, rigid plastics used for consumer goods packaging.
Skills and Abilities:
Must be fluent in French & English
Ability to use current PC-based software (Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)
