Adresse The Chair of Labour Economics, Prof. Conny Wunsch, at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Basel (Switzerland) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in labour economics. The initial appointment is for 2 years and an employment level of 80%. Subject to available funding and based on mutual agreement, the employment level can be increased to 100% at any time and the contract can be extended by another 4 years after the initial 2 years.
The successful candidate will collaborate with Conny Wunsch in joint research projects and conduct his or her own independent research. The focus of the position is on research, but the candidate will be expected to teach PC lab sessions on causal inference methods with R once per year (20 hours in total).
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labour economics and econometrics and a solid understanding of economic theory. Ideally, the candidate will be interested in questions concerning the digital transformation, job search or policy evaluation.
The successful candidate will have good user knowledge of R and Stata. Knowledge of Python and experience with natural language processing are an asset.
To qualify for the position, candidates must have a PhD by the time they apply.
Knowledge of German is not a formal requirement but an asset.
