Job Description:
This professorship is responsible for the field of interest of land surveying, physical Geodesy and satellite geodesy.
The position holder (m/f/x) represents the professorship in an application-oriented manner in teaching, continuing education and research.
Teaching activities focus on courses in the basic modules of Geodesy and in specialized areas of Surveying and Geocomputing. The professorship requires a high level of commitment to supervising bachelor's and master's theses, student projects and excursions, to the strategic further development of the consecutive degree programs, as well as the expansion and development of career-integrated, continuing education and cooperative degree programs. Anhalt University’s application-oriented study approach requires intensive cooperation with the practice and training partners.
Applied research will focus on interdisciplinary cooperation with national and international universities and research institutions, with companies and professional associations as well as with other departments at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. Active participation in the acquisition and implementation of third-party funded projects and research and development projects is expected.
Anhalt University of Applied Sciences has the right to award doctorates in research-intensive disciplines. Participation in the inter-university Doctoral Center “Architecture and Design Research” is desired.
Active participation in the University’s collaborative academic management structures (akademische Selbstverwaltung) is also one of the responsibilities of the professorship.
Requirement Profile:
We are looking for a person with proven experience in the field of Geodesy and Geoinformation, in particular in the application of modern sensor technology and digital evaluation and analysis methods.
The applicant (m/f/x) has graduated with a relevant university degree in the field of appointment and has successfully completed a doctorate.
In teaching, the successful applicant (m/f/x) is expected to largely focus on the program-relevant contents of Surveying and Geoinformation in the German language in Bachelor's/Master's degree programs using current approaches. The module courses assigned to the professorship are to be further developed using modern didactic methods and techniques. A special focus is to be placed on digital teaching concepts. Current research findings are to be integrated into the curriculum.
Furthermore, the future position holder (m/f/x) should demonstrate expertise in the acquisition and implementation of collaborative and/or externally funded projects with partners from academia and practice, as well as publications on the aforementioned focus areas.
International networking in the subject area of the professorship is desired. A sound knowledge of the German and English languages is required, as are intercultural skills.
Employment requirements:
The requirements for employment are governed by article 35 Hochschulgesetz des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt (HSG LSA).
Any first-time appointment to a professorship is based on fulfilling the requirements for a probationary civil servant position (Beamtenverhältnis auf Probe).
