YOUR TASKS
Your task will be to support and help coordinate the following ERC research project at the Department of Art History at Ghent University:
ERC Consolidator Grant ‘A New Connoisseurship: Smart Ways to detect forgeries (ARTDETECT 2024-2028)’ led by Prof. Anna Tummers
This includes, among other things:
- supporting the Principal Investigator in their research group coordination tasks
- organising on-site (technical) analyses of paintings, including the insured transportation of the paintings and/or instruments, the reservation of the research laboratories and the coordination with the specialists involved
- (co-)organising expert meetings, an international conference and research missions
- assisting with research data management
- coordinating research communication, for instance on the project websites
- supporting publication work
- assisting with financial reporting to the ERC
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You hold a master’s degree in a humanities subject with preference for a subject related to (Technical) Art History
- You have relevant work experience at an academic institution or a similar knowledge institution (such as NICAS, KIK-IRPA or a museum)
- You are proactive, and enjoy working together in a team
- You have an interest in academic research and would like to support research projects / researchers with their tasks
- You are fluent in Dutch and English
- Prior experience with research coordination is preferred, but not a requirement

- We offer you a contract of indefinite duration.
- Your contract will start no earlier than 1 June 2024. A later start is possible.
- Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4. Click here for more information about our salary scales.
