Job description
We are offering two research engineer positions based in the Organ-on-Chip team within the Herland Lab Group at the Division of Nanobiotechnology at the Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab). In this project, we are developing Organ-on-Chip platforms aimed at recreating physiological functions in vitro. We are working with induced pluripotent stem cells and their differentiations into vascular and neural cells in monolayer and organoid form. We are developing new techniques for microfluidic systems based on 3D printing, laser patterning and replica molding. The tasks also include analyzing samples with various assays and microscopy.

Qualifications
Requirements
- A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in a relevant discipline area, such as biomedical engineering or biofabrication
- Expertise. You have demonstrated laboratory research experience in stem cell differentiation and microfluidics.
Personal skills
- Communication. As a person, you are meticulous and goal-oriented and like to take responsibility. You have a strong ability to take initiative and run projects. You have good communication skills and command of the English language.
- Behavior. You have a history of respectful and professional behavior and attitudes in a collaborative environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with and understanding of stem cell differentiations to model metabolic disease.
- Experience with microfluidic devices fabrication, e.g., using replica molding.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary research team, plus the motivation and discipline to carry out autonomous research.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
