Researcher (Ph.D. candidate or Post-doc) (f/m/d)
for advanced academic training to obtain research skills an academic competences according to Section 2 (1) of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz) as soon as possible. The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of a two-year extension. The position offers the option to pursue a Ph.D. or post-doc qualifications.
The Economic Theory Groups conducts research in the applied economics of competition, digital/media, and sports economics. It offers an international group active in research and excellent supervision.
Your tasks
Your job tasks include:
- Conducting research in one or more of the following areas: competition economics, media- and digital economics, sports economics
- Assistance in teaching and examinations of the subjects Micro Economics, Media and Digital Markets, Competition, Strategy, and Institution (in bachelor and master programs)
- Supervision and consultancy for students
- Assistence to the general tasks in research and administration of the Economic Theory Group.
Your profile
For being part of the selection process is needed:
- University degree in economics or a related subject (Master or Diploma (Univ.)), Post-docs must also have a doctoral degree in the above-mentioned fields
- Ability to teach economic subjects
- Suitability to academic working
Following competences are desirable:
- Research interests and skills in competition, media/digital and sports economics
- Skills in empirical research methods (e.g. econometrics)
- Team competencies, organizational skills, and motivation

For Ph.D. candidates we offer a part-time position with 75%. We envisage to increase working hours if possible. For Post-docs we offer a full-time position. The extent to which a part-time request can be granted, in particular with regard to the location and scope of part-time work, will be examined on the basis of the needs of the service.
