Senior Economist

We are looking for a Senior Economist within our Economic Research department. As a Senior Economist, you will carry out diagnosis, monitor and forecasts trends for large emerging markets economies. you will also develop in-depth data analyzes, both for internal (strategic, commercial and risk decisions) and external (brand awareness) purposes.

Key responsibilities / What you do

• Ensure thorough monitoring of economic trends to better inform commercial and risk decisions (maintain database, update forecasts, country risk model and respond to internal clients)
• Act as the lead economist on emerging economies 
• Deliver quality knowledge products on economic developments and country risks to leverage Allianz Trade outreach (write analytical and reactive reports on hot topics and key trends and make presentations to clients, prospects and the media)
• Coordinate innovative research and develop new tools to enrich the analysis with proprietary information (collaborate with other economists on cross-cutting themes and propose new analysis)
• Suggest themes for developing the knowledge lines of the economic research department and help develop content on the key Allianz Trade workstreams (trade, non-payment trends, insolvencies). 
• Lead analytical thinking and foster collaboration with commercial and risk teams at Group- and regional level in his/her region. 

Key requirements / What you bring

•  Strong econometrical skills
• Very strong analytical writing, and excellent presentation skills in English and French. Spanish and/or German are nice-to-have.
• Proven analytical thinking and track record in leading and delivering high quality research on macroeconomic forecasting and country risk analysis
• Very good knowledge of MS Office suite, in particular Excel and PPT.
• Very good knowledge of economic data providers (Refinitiv/Datastream, Bloomberg, Macrobond) and modelling software (e.g. Eviews, Python, R, Stata)
