Within the Group, you will join the Group Chief Underwriting Office as Senior Pricing Expert – Retail.

YOUR JOB AND DAILY MISSIONS:

Context & Major Challenges

The newly created Global Chief Underwriting Office will be accountable for establishing, enabling, and driving profit and growth through Product Underwriting Strategy, Portfolio Design and Technical Underwriting Excellence in partnership with the AXA Entities, for both Commercial and Retail, through: 

  • Portfolio Design Steering
  • Underwriting Product Strategy and Profitability Measurement
  • Technical Underwriting Guidance
  • Pricing Models, Platforms and Analytics
  • Risk Appetite deployment
  • Ceded Reinsurance strategy design and purchasing

As part of the CUO Office you will be an integral part of the Group Pricing Team partnering directly with underwriting and executive management as we look to develop and deliver our strategic objectives. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure Market Leading Technical Pricing in Retail Products.
  • For Retail Products carry out Pricing Technical Reviews (Deep Dive, IDR, etc..) and execute a thorough review on Pricing Strategy, Adequacy, Governance, Tools, etc.
  • Review and Validate Retail Pricing Strategy, Adequacy and Model Calibrations.
  • Support PMP through initial buildout to Metrics validations, PMP & MBR reviews, Strat Plan and UW actions validation to achieve desired ECR for Casualty Products.
  • Enforce the execution of the Pricing Policy including best practices and technical standards for governance.
  • Address Regulatory Pricing Topics related to Retail products and develop actions plans to respond to legal and regulatory changes and ensure fairness.
  • Develop a strong network of relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence technical Pricing improvements globally and drive consistency in approach where appropriate.
  • Stay abreast of and appropriately communicate knowledge of industry changes, specifically changes that affect P&C Retail pricing.
  • Share expertise on product pricing methodologies, including pricing algorithms, pricing parameters, and advanced pricing techniques.
  • Provide direction and support development of central pricing models and platforms where needed.
  • Engage closely with members of CUO, Entity Underwriting and Pricing members, Reserving, TDO, and Finance to improve pricing accuracy and overall business performance.

Dimensions 

  • Global scope: full remit (across all P&C Retail businesses & geographies).
  • Responsible for the pricing Remit for the GCUO retaining matrix responsibility across P&C Retail lines of business.

Stakeholders: CFOs, Head of Reserving and Head of Pricing within the entities Heads of claims within the entities.

KPIs for Success: 

  • Measure of the partnership with the entities.
  • Direct influence on the strategy, portfolio development and technical performance of the entities.
  • Deliver on building the analytic and technology culture of the entire organization.
  • Carry the strategic plan.

Experience

  • Fully Certified Actuary or significant experience as an actuary
  • Extensive P&C Retail experience in pricing within an AXA entity or external organization
  • Ability to directly influence strategy and portfolio management, as well as setting the technical culture.
  • Proven experience interacting with Senior leaders and evolving in matrixed environments.
  • Experience in driving change and building relationships.
  • Proven experience in leading multicultural and multifaced geographically diverse teams.

Language

  • Fluent English
