Supplier Quality Manager Europe (M/F)

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

  • Support the whole Region or Country/Cluster to reach the “Best in Class” quality level with our suppliers for all product lines (Rolling Stock, Services, Digital & Information Systems).
  • Ensure the delivery of on-cycle Supplier quality activities (from selection of suppliers till end of the contract) for the projects delivered by the Region

 

The Supplier Quality Manager reports directly to Europe Quality Director and manage functionally a team of more than 120 people.

 

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

 

Deliver / organize the delivery of the Supplier Quality activities during the development phases of the projects:

  • Build SPQD (Supplier Quality Development Activities) organization and manage associated teams
  • Interact with Sites & Projects in the Region to anticipate and deliver the Supplier Product Development activities

 

Develop teams and improve efficiency of the organization

  • Animate the Supplier Quality Region network (Country and/or Site Supplier Quality Organization and/or Region SQD)
  • Contribute to the assessment of the Supplier Quality competences within the Region
  • Consolidate and analyse Supplier Quality workload within the Region, give orientations in term of budget and strategy for the Supplier Quality organization to Region Quality Director.

 

Develop and deploy Supplier Quality Processes and Sharing of good practices

  • Contribute to the definition and the continuous improvement of Alstom standard processes for Supplier Quality (function standards, processes, tools, methods) and ensure they are appropriate, lean and efficient regarding Region challenges.
  • Ensure their smooth and efficient deployment within the Region, in all product lines, relying on global Supplier Quality expertise when needed.
  • Align Supplier Quality within the Region on Alstom Supplier Quality ways of working.

 

Strengthen Suppliers performance within the Region

  • Drive actions and continuous improvement plans to ensure proper deliverables from suppliers at development phase and reduce the Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ), the Non-Conformity Report (NCR), recurrent defects and warranty issues due to Suppliers.
  • Ensure Region feedback to Procurement, Supplier Quality Development teams and other Regions with relevant data

 

Support the Region to meet Supplier Quality Excellence

  • Deploy Supplier Quality objectives within the Region, in line with Region Quality and Alstom Supplier Quality (Product validation: FAI Go on Time, Non-Conformity (NCE/m€, warranty, etc.)).

 

Frequent travels required for the position – Domestic and International

 

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory

  • Graduated from Technical and/or Quality Engineering degree
  • Master degree level or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE

Mandatory

  • More than 10 years of experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Industrial or equivalent
  • Quality tools experienced (eg problem solving/Risk management tools)
  • Manufacturing Processes knowledge
  • Experience in managing global suppliers
  • Knowledge of railway industry (norms, certifications…)

 

Desirable

  • Knowledgeable of Industrial fields, Supplier Quality, Production, Quality, Procurement or equivalent
  • Understanding of technical interdependencies
