Job description

The postdoc will join Department of Energy Technology at KTH.  The research group within the department has the main focus on Techno-economic analysis of Energy Systems in Buildings and cities within both education and research. The candidate is expected to be an active member of the research group, working on the existing projects and courses as well as developing new projects. Particularly, the PhD project aims at recovering the heat dissipated by mobile network enclosures. The integration should follow several goals simultaneously: more efficient thermal system which will simultaneously act as the cooling system for enclosures and heating system for building, simple and affordable retrofit method, and finally by smart control and energy storage mechanism to match heat supply and demand, shave the peak power and avoid high electricity prices.  

The postdoc will be placed at the Royal Institute of Technology and supervised by Associate Professor Hatef Madani.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Deep understanding and past experience of energy systems, particularly heating and cooling systems in buildings
  • Past experience on CFD modeling of thermal energy systems
  • Research expertise
  • Teaching abilities
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
  • Collaborative abilities
  • Independence

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment
