Description de l'emploi

We are seeking to recruit  Doctoral Researchers from 1 August 2024, or as agreed for a fixed term of three years. Positions are located in the Faculty of Information Technology.

Advances in Software Engineering are crucial for addressing the growing technological demands of our digital society and its dependence on adaptable, scalable, secure, and reliable systems. Software is recognized as the driving force behind digital transformation and is central to evolving fields such as AI, telecom, IoT, and quantum computing—and software depends on Software Engineering. The discipline of Software Engineering spans from the requirements specification and design of software systems to their development, testing, verification, deployment, and maintenance. To advance the discipline, associated research focuses on principles, designs, methodologies, programming languages, tools and techniques, and architectures that ensure robust, safe, and efficient software products and services that meet their intended requirements and users' needs. All these fields are possible topics for a doctoral thesis in the scope of this pilot.

The Doctoral education pilot is a programme funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture for the period 2024-2027 and implemented by Finnish universities, which will fund a total of up to 1,000 new fixed-term doctoral researcher positions and part of the associated supervision. The programme will develop new practices in doctoral training that will enable Doctoral Researchers to complete their dissertations in three years and support their employment in a wide range of sectors of the Finnish society.
