Doctoral researcher
to join us in Oulu Mining School research unit of Faculty of Technology
Oulu Mining School (OMS) is an education and research unit in engineering and geosciences at the University of Oulu, which significantly strengthens the University’s expertise in natural resources and sustainability. Oulu Mining School gathers core disciplines of mining value chain at the geosciences, geophysics, mining engineering and Mineral processing sectors.

As a Doctoral Researcher, you work in a multidisciplinary EU-funded research project AVANTIS that focuses on the recovery of critical raw materials (CRM).

Who are you?
In order to succeed and enjoy the position, we expect from you:
- Master's degree in Mineral processing, extractive metallurgy or chemical engineering.
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Good communication skills.
You have a good knowledge of Mineral processing technologies, the principles behind unit processes and a comprehensive understanding of the mining value chain. Experience in process mineralogy is an advantage.

Salary
The position isfixed-term for3 years as of 01.04.2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The salary will be based on the levels 2-4 of the demand level chart for teaching and research staff of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (maximum of 50 % of the job-specific component). Starting gross salary will be approx. 2300-2600 € per month (before taxes). A trial period of 6months is applied in the position.
