About the Role  

The Group Marketing Manager (GMM) TAVI, EMEA is responsible for the development, execution and monitoring of the EMEA commercial and marketing strategy for the TAVI franchise. This Franchise consists of our Products : ACURATE neo2™ Bioprosthetic Aortic valve, SENTINEL™ Cerebral Embolic Protection, SAFARI™ Guidewire and iSLEEVE™ Introducer Sheath but also our key Educational and Clinical Programs.  Leading the EMEA TAVI Franchise, the Group Marketing Manager is responsible for the long-term success of BSC in the EMEA region via development of successful marketing and commercial strategies as well as the leadership of a team of EMEA product managers.

The GMM is responsible for developing strategic annual and mid-term marketing plans and coordinating the execution of franchise strategies and tactics to achieve revenue and gross margin objectives across EMEA. Comprehensive experience in development and execution of multifaceted Omnichannel marketing strategies, a proven track record in the development of tangible commercial / marketing strategy and significant leadership experience are important pre-requisites for this position.    

 

Key Responsibilities:  

- Franchise and Business Leadership: The GMM will lead the TAVI marketing and business development in collaboration with the Franchise Director on the strategic direction of the franchise for both strategic and operational planning, as well as operational execution.

Driving strategy and ensuring execution of the marketing messages and tools.  The GMM will use personal customer insight and field sales feedback to help validate the direction of the team, ensuring it results effective commercial activities. This role will also ensure the team is developing targeted and tangible Commercial strategies and tactics to win against competitors and new entrants into the market and to bridge to new product introduction.    

- Strategic marketing vision: The GMM will harness a proven track record in strategic marketing success to guide effective strategy development and execution, with a focus upon tangible tactics for execution in-field. The GMM will scan the complex market situation and nurture strategic innovation to drive market share.  

- People Leadership and Development: Lead a high performing team of product managers and Marketing specialist with a clear focus upon sustained development of the team.  

- Strategic Planning and Execution: Provide franchise input into the EMEA 3-year strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan, influence the global franchise strategy, top-down guidance of EMEA AOP.   

 - Strong Customer Engagement:  Develop a focused KOL network and clear engagement strategy within the franchise for selected KOL and key influencers.  Maintain a pulse on the market, with frequent field engagement.

- Influence Sales Execution and Productivity: Ensure there is close collaboration with cluster/sales leadership, aligned on tactics and strategies to grow high potential countries within franchise, as well as ensure a compelling competitive strategy to grow our market share within the franchise within the short- to medium-term.  

- Embed new capabilities including Digital & Remote: The GMM will be a catalyst for implementation of the Remote strategy within the franchise, as well as driving expedient and effective implementation of advanced digital techniques for Marketing but also Hospital Solutions.

- Global collaboration: work with the global franchise team, representing the EMEA market dynamics and influencing global decisions.  Identify and communicate regional portfolio needs to influence the portfolio.  

- Drive Market Expansion: Provide strategic direction and priorities to ensure the team is working on market expansion, with a focus upon preparing the successful planning and commercialisation of forthcoming significant product launches.  

- Internal/External training: Identify and align on high-level training needs and gaps and provide input to cross-functional teams.

- New product introduction: Ensure disciplined launch process is embedded into the organization and followed at a EMEA and local level.  Influence the global division alignment to enhance speed of go-to-market readiness.  

- Collaboration with Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA): The Franchise is undergoing a rapid expansion thanks to a range of innovative therapies. The GMM will work closely with our HEMA teams on Global, EMEA and Country levels to systematically analyse, develop and deliver tangible messaging about the clinical and commercial outcomes of the Franchise product ranges.   

 

Job Requirements/Required experience:  

  • 7+ years marketing experience, with minimum 5 years in medical devices   
  • 2+ years people leadership experience 

Demonstrated functional competency in: 

  • Strategic marketing and strategy development 
  • Creating impactful strategic marketing plans with a tangible impact upon activity in field 
  • Leading cross-functional projects (direct line management and/or influence management) 
  • Building market, revenue, and/or investment models  
  • Ability to synthesize complex information / analysis into a cohesive business plan 

Demonstrated leadership competencies in:  

  • Commercial and marketing leadership; including the ability to create and champion visionary strategies 
  • Presentation and communication skills, including communication to senior management 
  • Strategic thinking 
  • Ability to manage complex operating environments 
  • Excellent coaching, personnel development with people management experience preferred 
  • Strong leadership and influence skills, with ability to inspire cross functional collaboration, with a high focus on management team in Global marketing, and the NSM roles 
  • Collaborative leader who is commercially minded, ensuring alignment between sales/marketing and EMEA/country  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required.  2nd EU language would be an advantage  
  • Knowledge/experience with digital marketing techniques and transformation is required 
  • Deep understanding of market access and therapy development techniques 
  • Travel: 40-50%, primarily in EMEA.    
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master or equivalent preferred
