About the Position:

Within the Department of Health Professions, we provide a spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate programs covering Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetics, Sport and Exercise Medicine, Food and Nutrition.

We are thrilled to expand our offerings by introducing a new MSc (pre-registration) program in Occupational Therapy starting September 2024. Our department boasts a lively research student community across all fields.

All our programs are crafted to blend academic knowledge with practical experience, ensuring our students are adept for practice, employment, and contribute meaningfully to advancing knowledge in Occupational Therapy and broader health and social care domains.

Technology and creativity are central to the student journey in our department, and we are dedicated to employing innovative teaching methodologies to enhance learning experiences.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to curriculum development and enriching the student experience while actively engaging in broader departmental endeavors.

They will be responsible for teaching Occupational Therapy-related subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supporting inter-professional teaching within the faculty. Collaboration with a diverse range of academics, researchers, clinicians, and professionals across the health and social care sector is paramount.

Part-time arrangements can be accommodated for the right candidate.

About the Candidate:

The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional oral and written communication skills and possess strong interpersonal abilities. A willingness to contribute to the entirety of the Occupational Therapy curriculum and shared aspects of the Allied Health Professional curriculum is essential. Significant experience and knowledge of clinical and/or higher educational settings are required, with experience working with students being advantageous.

Candidates must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and hold membership in the Royal College of Occupational Therapists or a relevant international professional body. A solid first degree, at least a Masters-level qualification, and a PhD or equivalent (for Senior Lecturer positions) are required.

Applicants should have relevant teaching experience and substantial clinical expertise in Occupational Therapy, with a track record of research, service improvement, service evaluation, or clinical audit.
