The University of Nottingham is seeking to appoint a Senior Research Development Manager to work within the School of Life Sciences to enhance and grow our internationally renowned research and knowledge exchange activities. This post-holder will make an important contribution to the successful implementation of the University’s research strategy, focusing on specific research objectives within the School of Life Sciences (SoLS) and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS).
Life Sciences has a broad portfolio of research organised across three research divisions: Physiology, Pharmacology, and Neuroscience (PPN), Infections, Immunity and Microbes (IIM) and Cells, Organisms and Molecular Genetics (ComGen) with significant funding from a wide range of national and international funders, as well as industrial partners.
The post-holder will lead and support the identification and development of a range of UK and international opportunities for external funding, working in partnership with industry and public sector agencies where appropriate. This will include specialist support for securing awards across the funding landscape and developing the grant application pipeline with academics and researchers at all stages of their careers as well as engaging internal and external research networks. The post-holder will lead a portfolio of activities to increase quality and success rates of applications, embedding research excellence and enhancing research culture in the development process.
You will work closely with colleagues from the School’s Research Support Team, Research Committee and the Faculty Research Team to support the research groups to meet long-term strategic plans. We are seeking highly motivated applicants with experience of academic engagement and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, and provide expert support, advice, and guidance to our scientists.
This is a permanent, full time (36.25 hours) post. Arrangements for job share may be considered.
