The Risk Business Partnering team is responsible for driving the Risk and Control agenda across AXA Health with a very clear understanding of the factors that drive the risk profile of a Health business. As a senior member of the 1st Line Risk Team, you’ll play a key role in driving a robust and resilient risk culture throughout AXA Health, deepening the capability of the business to understand and manage its risk, whilst maintaining a strong and pervasive focus on positive business and customer outcomes.
As Senior Risk Business Partner, you'll work in partnership with the Health Senior Management and Leader population and UK Shared Functions teams to provide trusted subject matter expertise and constructive challenge around identification and management of operational risks, whilst working with the business to design and deploy controls to manage these risks proactively and systematically. Please note, this is a 12 month fixed term contract.

What you’ll be doing:
- Support implementation of enterprise risk management (ERM) framework and monitor local adherence to ensure quality inputs and outputs are achieved. Review and challenge ERM outputs including risk assessments, control assessments, risk incident responses and risk acceptances.
- Support the timely identification of risks and provide advice and guidance on their treatment, and management as part of the ERM framework.
- Drive clear understanding and management by Health Senior Management of operational and resilience risks arising from both business as usual and transformation activity in line with agreed risk appetite.
- Oversight and challenge of policy and procedures embedment, with focus on highest risk processes across in-scope Health teams.
- Drive, alongside the product, pricing, data, operational and support function leadership teams a commercially centric approach to managing operational risk and resilience that explicitly considers the ‘cost of control’ relative to risk appetite.
- Coach and partner in-scope business areas to ensure Exec / Risk Owners can discharge their accountabilities.
- Design and delivery (and regular review) of targeted Key Risk Indictors, centered on the customer journeys and associated operations/ infrastructure.
- Maintain a clear understanding of info security/ data/ privacy requirements and the extent to which Health is fulfilling these in line with the risk appetite of the business.
- Provide key 1st line insights, with very clear articulation of the ‘so what’ and recommendation on next steps, to both Health and UK-level governance forums, attending these as required.

Your Profile
What we’re looking for:
- Demonstrable expertise in Operational Risk, with a track record of championing good customer outcomes and pragmatic, commercially-minded operational solutions.
- Hands on experience of the key risks associated with a large-scale financial services firm/ Healthcare insurer.
- An up-to-date awareness of the UK regulator’s expectations of a Healthcare insurance provider, including expertise in working with regulated and non-regulated products.
- In-depth understanding of risk and control assessment and assurance techniques, including Key Risk Indicators, alongside statistical sampling and outcome-based testing.
- Ability to engage with staff at all levels of the organisation with challenge, empathy and pragmatism.
- Excellent ‘to the point’ report writing and communication skills with an attention to detail.
- A people centric management style, which drives engagement and ongoing capability building across all levels of the team and wider organisation, building a culture of positive energy, empowerment, creativity and teamwork.
