This is a very exciting role for a Finance professional who has chosen Treasury as their area of expertise. This permanent, full-time role based in Stamford, CT. You will play an important part in a high performing team within AXA XL Global Treasury.  The team is responsible for the division’s cash management, bank relationships, banking arrangements as well as global FX and liquidity management.

The successful candidate will gain an outstanding insight into the full workings of a front and middle office Treasury environment across key activities such as cash management & funding, foreign exchange management, cashflow budgeting and to a lesser extent Investment Management. In the role, the candidate will have exposure to internal and external stakeholders on matters related to counterparty credit risk, capital and liquidity risk; on projects aiming to leverage the latest technology to improve process efficiency; as well as to keep up to date with regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

The global role holder will be responsible for FX, cash management and banking relationship for the Americas region, and coordinate the daily cash handover with the team covering Europe & APAC.

 
Key responsibilities include:

• Owning all aspects of short-term liquidity management across the Americas, including cash pool management and account funding, counterparty credit exposure, collateral requirements and interactions with the Investment department and Finance teams
• Driving adoption of new technology to drive efficiency and greater accuracy in cashflow projection, with the aim to reduce cash on operating accounts and to reduce manual processes
• Establishing comprehensive forward-looking view of Americas’ cashflows for short-term forecasting and longer-term budgeting and managing the interactions with stakeholders, including Investments, FP&A and Finance
• Maintaining relationships with key banking partners in the Americas region on topics covering new banking services, service quality levels, issues remediation, system integration and transaction activity; with the aim to optimize short-term investment income and identify further opportunities to maximize interest income
• Leading efforts to produce analytics that generate insights into Treasury cashflows and drive better business and investment decisions  

The role will require to identify and build effective relationships with a range of important stakeholders across AXA XL and AXA Group to drive ongoing exposure management and process improvement.

You will report to the Head of Treasury Front Office.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Extensive experience gained working within P&C (re)insurance, with demonstrated understanding of ceded reinsurance and insurance principles, and application thereof within the Treasury environment; Professional Accountancy / Corporate Treasurer Qualification is a plus
• Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of navigating effectively a global enterprise with a professional approach to successfully interact with all levels of the organization, to confidently articulate views and influence outcomes, to understand constituencies served and develop/leverage relationships necessary to be successful
• Outstanding analytical skills, with an inquisitive attitude, with attention to detail and an ability to link the results of their own work to the broader business results and strategies
• Bachelor’s degree level with a focus on accounting, finance or treasury, preferably with further academic or professional qualifications (e.g., IACT or AMCT Treasury qualification)
• A proactive, self-starter and self-motivator, that is adaptable in a fast-moving global environment with the capacity to manage time, work to tight deadlines, priorities and adjust to changing requirements

The U.S. pay range for this position is USD 74,000 - 145,500. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience, and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
