As a Director on the Footwear Cost & Standards Engineering team, you will be a part of a cross-functional global team committed to serving the athlete* and fueling the financial future of NIKE and our Footwear Manufacturing partners. Through expanding data-driven insights, NIKE Footwear Costing is revolutionizing how to identify cost optimization opportunities that provide consistent and actionable transparency necessary to enable our partners to continue to develop and manufacture the world’s best footwear.

Success in Footwear Costing requires strong cross-collaboration across Planning, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Footwear Development, and with Nike’s Footwear Manufacturing partners to evolve and deliver continued improvement in how we optimize NIKE products to deliver on our promise to serve the athlete*.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As a Cost & Standards Engineering Director, your main role will be to lead and inspire a team of Cost Engineers to utilize new data-driven insights, deliver seasonal quote operations, optimize product input costs in all phases of creation and manufacturing, ensure adherence to and application of costing standards, and elevate best practices.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will lead and inspire the Cost & Standards Engineering team in the continued evolution of the Footwear Cost & Standards Engineering function to drive competitive, sustainable, and standardized costing across all footwear. Working cross-functionally, you will help establish new labor process standards, create and capture value through automation initiatives, accelerate the Nike Manufacturing System, and accelerate the adoption of digital insights for new cost avoidance opportunities.

This role will also lead in driving continuous improvement of the Nike Costing Framework, including oversight and resourcing of functional and program initiatives, converting costing and manufacturing concepts into reality. This role will act as the internal and external subject matter expert and change leader for Nike Footwear Costing.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work with the Vietnam Partner Manager, Footwear Manufacturing Partners, Product Development, Sourcing, Engineering, Finance and other functional teams regionally, within the Partner Management Office, and at World Headquarters to operate a driver-based Footwear Product Costing framework. You will actively engage in the development of the functional strategy in partnership with regional and global teams. As a key member of the Partner Management Office Leadership team in Vietnam, you will represent the Costing function and talent, including recruiting, training and developing cost engineering talent.

You will directly report to the Sr. Director, Footwear Costing and will be a key member of both the Footwear Costing and Vietnam Partner Management Office leadership teams.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field

  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience including Engineering, Product Development, Automation, Lean, Manufacturing, Product Costing preferred. Related disciplines also acceptable

  • Knowledge of footwear construction, manufacturing, innovation, costing, and global business management; experience with footwear supply chain strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of footwear sourcing, processes, and events from product concept to delivery

  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to recruit, motivate, and mentor Costing Managers and Engineers.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic team leadership and implement best practices

  • A pragmatic thinker and creative problem solver who will proactively research and drive collective resolution

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong influencing, motivational and leadership skills

  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, remain flexible, be results-oriented, and work productively within a matrixed organization

  • Work comfortably in an environment of ambiguity

  • Mentor and help train new or less experienced team members

  • High proficiency using MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time
