As a Project Engineer for Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Shinagawa, Japan, you will be responsible for completing individual engineering assignments efficiently and cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Executing activities related to large revenues, highly complex projects involving coordination of consortiums and multidisciplinary components.The local legal entity of this position is ABB K.K.

Your responsibilities
- Assisting the functional manager with the planning of project deliverables in alignment with schedule, cost, contract, quality, safety, and environment requirements
- Executing and ensuring accuracy of all actions and tasks assigned by the relevant discipline engineer in accordance with relevant documentation
- Assisting in developing Project Engineering plans, interfacing with customers, and/or overseeing vendors in order to ensure that engineering plans are developed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Coordinating external support in case of intensive workload or particular technological competencies required. Technically evaluates proposals received from external vendors
- Appropriate communication with customer and handling of requirement from customer
- Ensuring training activity for customers regarding product use, applicable maintenance aspects, and security
- Preparing service plan according to customer’s unique work environment. Informing field technicians on scope of supply, schedule and agreements with customer and on safety documentation and safety coordination with the customer and contractors
- Considering various methods in which to improve the productivity for his own task
Your background
- Bachelor’s or master’s Degree (engineering major mandatory)
- Basic knowledge of robotics products
- Open mind/ communication, Rapport building and interpersonal skills
- Preferable experience of software programing skill (C, python)
- Strong interest of robotics system
- Logical thinking and analytical skills
- JLPT N1 level in Japanese
- Business level of English
