With a commitment to innovation and excellence, we are expanding into the EU market and seeking a Senior Business Development Director to spearhead our entry and growth in this region.
Role Overview: As the inaugural hire for the EU expansion, the Senior Business Development Director - Market Access will play a pivotal role in establishing and growing our consultancy's presence within the European life science landscape. This strategic leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of market access strategies, an extensive network within the EU life sciences industry, and a proven track record of driving Business Development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Market Expansion: Develop and execute a comprehensive market entry strategy for the EU, identifying key opportunities and establishing a strong foothold for the company within the region's life science sector.
- 2Business Development: Drive revenue growth by proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and nurturing relationships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare organizations.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding client needs, and offering tailored market access solutions and consultancy services.
- Team Leadership: As the first hire in the EU, recruit and lead a high-performing team of Business Development professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
- Market Insights and Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics within the EU life sciences landscape, providing valuable insights to inform business strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams including consulting, operations, and marketing to ensure alignment of business objectives and deliver exceptional client experiences.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven track record of successfully expanding into new markets and driving revenue growth in the EU region.
- Extensive network and established relationships within the EU pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare sectors.
- Strong understanding of market access strategies, healthcare policies, and regulatory frameworks within the EU.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a growing team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, PhD) is a plus.
Additional Information:
- Years of Experience: Experience is not strictly defined; however, proven expertise in Business Development is required.
- Quota: Expected to generate $1-2M of new business per year.
- Project Size: Projects typically range from $250k to $500k, involving SLRs, HTA submissions, procedures, and a grasp of modelling and technology is advantageous.
- Trajectory: Start as an individual contributor and progress into a leadership role within one year.
- Client Target: Engage with small to top-tier pharmaceutical companies.
