Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics (JSBE) is an AACSB-accredited business school and one of the six faculties of the University of Jyväskylä.
We are looking for a Senior Lecturer, Marketing, starting on 1 August 2024 or as agreed in effective until further notice.
The Senior Lecturer will be part of the Marketing discipline, contributing to developing a research agenda on marketing, specializing in digital marketing, responsible marketing and consumer behavior, or b-to-b marketing and sales. We are looking for candidates with a research profile matching the JSBE focus areas of Digital Business and Economy and / or Sustainable Business and Economy.
The main duties of Senior Lecturer include teaching and research in the field of marketing. Teaching tasks include high-quality research-based teaching and guidance related to the field of the discipline at the levels of basic, subject, and advanced studies, including supervising mainly bachelor's and master’s theses, but also doctoral theses.
The person selected for the position is expected to actively participate in the development of teaching as well as acquire external research funding.
Qualifications we are looking for
The applicant is required to have a relevant doctoral degree in marketing or related areas. The applicant is expected to have extensive experience of teaching and supervision and provide evidence of high-quality academic research work. We are searching for a person who is interested in teaching and the development of education. The person is expected to have ability in high level publishing.
Experience in international teaching and supervising tasks related to the focus area mentioned above is considered an advantage for the applicant. Also, relevant competences and evidence of high-quality research work advancing the subject area of marketing are considered an advantage. We value experience from international research teams.
The person selected for this position is expected to teach in Finnish and/or in English. According to the Finnish law, a non-native lecturer/research staff member can be granted an exemption from the requirement of Finnish language proficiency. In this position, the Senior Lecturer is expected to have excellent skills in English language. Finnish language skills are considered an advantage for the applicant.
The duties, qualification requirements and language skills of a Senior Lecturer are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines.
The position is full-time located in Jyväskylä, where contact teaching takes place.

The annual salary range will be 49,000 - 57,000 EUR (gross income, including a holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.
